A truck's position is not something you ask for. It is displayed

Follow ME tracks your vehicle fleet by GPS: the position and condition of every vehicle, journeys, stops and how long they last, the way drivers drive, and the temperature of the refrigerated body.

Real time

Where the vehicles are, and what they are doing right now

Locating a truck is where it starts. Knowing whether it is moving, at what speed and on how much fuel, is already a decision.

The position of every vehicle is presented on digital maps. It never arrives on its own: the condition of the vehicle comes with it, and that is what turns a dot on a map into something a fleet manager can act on.

The history keeps the same promise once the day is over. You consult the travel history of any vehicle, look at the stops made and how long they lasted, analyse the journeys travelled. What happened is no longer a month-end reconstruction.

What the map says about each vehicle

  • Its position at that instant, on a digital map
  • Stopped or moving
  • Its speed
  • Its fuel level
  • Its engine temperature

List published by SYMATIQUE under “Real-time visualisation”.

And what the history lets you revisit

  • The travel history of every vehicle, one by one
  • The stops made and how long they lasted
  • Fuel consumption
  • Temperature variation, for a refrigerated truck
  • The unloading of goods
The technical chain

Between the wheel and the screen, four steps and not one keystroke

The tracker records, the network carries, the data centre processes. Nobody writes anything down by hand.

The path of a position, from the vehicle to your screen Four steps in a chain. One: when the vehicle is moving, the on-board GPS tracker records the data. Two: it sends the data using GPRS communications. Three: the Follow ME data centre records and processes it immediately, and scans it in the event of an alarm situation. Four: the fleet is shown in a web browser or in the Android and iOS mobile application. The tracker The network The data centre Your screen On board the vehicle It records as soon as the wheels turn GPRS communications The vehicle does the sending Follow ME Recorded and processed at once Browser or mobile Android and iOS
  • Position, on digital maps
  • Speed and starts, in tabular or graphical form
  • Sensor data, in the same form
  • Vehicle costs, entered and tracked in the same place

The data received by the processing centre is scanned in the event of an alarm situation: that is where alerts are born, and not in a spreadsheet opened the next morning.

The hardware

Change platform without changing your tracker units

The question is never “is your software any good”. It is “must we refit forty vehicles just to try it”.

A fleet that is already equipped carries a hardware investment that cannot be recovered. That is the reason why most GPS geolocation platforms are never replaced: the software would have to change, but the tracker units would change with it.

SYMATIQUE has integrated eleven brands of GPS trackers to take that line off the quotation. A fleet equipped by another supplier can therefore, in most cases, be taken over as it stands — the units stay in place; what changes is where the data frames are sent.

The brands already integrated

ACI, Alphatec, AVL, BCE, Concox, Extremtrack, Meitrack, Portman, Queclink, Teltonika and Topflaytech.

And the vehicle bus

The CAN BUS module reads the on-board electronics directly: fuel consumption and level, engine speed, engine temperature. These are no longer estimates worked out from outside; they are the vehicle's own values.

List and description published by SYMATIQUE, pages “Brands of GPS trackers” and “Modules and features”.

We have integrated several brands of GPS trackers in order to save our future customers from incurring additional expenses in the event that they want to migrate to our system.

Day-to-day operations

A fleet is not run off the odometer reading

What the vehicle did with its day writes itself, and is read back as a report.

The reports named by the publisher

Six reports, and the list ends with “etc.”

We publish only the ones that are named. Each answers a question a fleet manager already asks, and which today is answered from memory.

  • Activity report — total time with the engine running during the day, hour of the first start, total mileage travelled, maximum speed reached
  • Trip report — date and time, departure and arrival address, mileage, duration
  • Report of temperature variations — minimum, maximum and average temperature of the refrigeration cabin
  • Eco-driving report — speeding with the locality, hard braking, aggressive acceleration
  • Passage report by known location — the locations you declare, and the time at which they were passed
  • Goods unloading report — time and place of the unloading of goods
5 cost items that can be entered per vehicle: fuel, tyres, maintenance, insurance, depreciation — the published list ending with “among others”

Tabular or graphical, as you prefer

Speed, start and sensor data are visible in both forms. Nobody exports anything to draw a curve.

Geofencing

You declare the authorised areas. The system detects entries and exits.

Leaving an area is no longer something you discover by re-reading a journey: it is an event, dated and located.

Remote engine stop

The module makes it possible to stop a vehicle safely, from a distance. It is a function for exceptional cases, and its use is a matter for your own internal rules before it is a matter for software.

A report carries a name

Driver identification is automatic. Aggressive driving, speeding or an unusually long stop are therefore no longer put down to a vehicle but to a person — which is the only way to discuss them usefully in a one-to-one.

What the management team was looking for

A simple visual way to follow the evolution of the main performance indicators for the fleet. That is the question SYMATIQUE puts at the head of its list of reports, and the six named reports are its answer: detailed, exportable, and available without opening a spreadsheet.

Functional coverage

Twelve modules, and three ways of looking at a fleet

We publish only what is named. The rest is discovered in a demonstration.

Four modules watch the road: where the vehicle goes, where it is not allowed to go, what it unloads and at what temperature. Four watch the driver, because a vehicle does not drive itself. Four watch the fleet itself, what it consumes and what it costs.

The twelve names are SYMATIQUE's own, taken one by one. What this page announces, the demonstration must be able to show.

Cold on the move

The cold chain does not stop at the door of the truck

Between the cold room at the start and the one at the end, there is a refrigerated body, a road and several hours.

The refrigeration temperature module monitors the body during the delivery of goods. The value comes back like everything else, through the same tracker and the same network: it is not read by hand on departure and on arrival, with the two blind hours that this implies in between.

The report of temperature variations then gives the minimum, the maximum and the average for the refrigeration cabin. The history makes it possible to replay the variation over a given journey, and the unloading module records the durations of door openings — which are, very concretely, the moments when the cold gets out.

Follow ME follows the cold that moves. The cold that stays put — cold rooms, humidity, frost and defrost cycles — belongs to Renoutet, the other dedicated product from SYMATIQUE.

The trace that on-board cold leaves behind

  • The temperature of the body — monitored during the delivery, and not on departure then on arrival
  • The minimum, the maximum, the average — the three values carried by the report of temperature variations
  • The variation over a journey — replayable from the history, refrigerated truck by refrigerated truck
  • Door openings — detected and recorded with their duration
The foundation

A product that goes live on its own, and waits for nothing else

Follow ME is not a module inside a suite. It is a standalone platform, on the same footing as Smart SALES.

The fleet is reached from a web browser, or from the Android and iOS mobile application. There is nothing to install on a workstation, and nothing to deploy on a server — the Follow ME data centre receives the frames and processes them.

On the vehicle side, the equipment is a tracker unit. If it is already there and belongs to one of the eleven integrated brands, it stays where it is. If not, it is fitted — and that is the only physical work in the project.

Follow ME does not depend on any other SYMATIQUE software in order to work. It goes live in a company that uses neither Smart SALES nor Swifto ERP, and may never use either.

That does not stop the two worlds from talking to each other: the Smart SALES platform carries its own vehicle fleet and geolocated delivery modules, and interfaces with the information system already in place. The two can go live in whichever order you want, or separately.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us before the first vehicle is fitted

No. It is a dedicated, standalone product, on the same footing as Smart SALES. It goes live on its own, in a company that uses no other SYMATIQUE solution, and it requires no back office to be installed first.

In most cases, no. Eleven brands of GPS trackers are already integrated: ACI, Alphatec, AVL, BCE, Concox, Extremtrack, Meitrack, Portman, Queclink, Teltonika and Topflaytech. SYMATIQUE carried out these integrations precisely so that a migration does not mean paying for a new set of equipment. The check is made on the exact model of your units, before any proposal.

Its position on a digital map, and its condition: stopped or moving, its speed, its fuel level, its engine temperature. Speed, start and sensor data are visible in tabular or graphical form. The history then covers the journeys, the stops and how long they lasted.

No. A web browser is enough to reach all the information about the fleet. The Android and iOS mobile application gives access to the same information, from the phone your fleet managers already have.

The cold that moves, yes: the temperature of the refrigerated body is monitored during the delivery, and the report of temperature variations gives its minimum, maximum and average. Door openings are detected and their durations recorded. For a cold room at standstill — humidity, frost and defrost cycles — it is Renoutet, the other dedicated product from SYMATIQUE.
